Strong start for U3A

CORANGAMITE University of the Third Age (U3A) began its 2024 year with a large number of members, new and returning, at its annual general meeting and 'welcome back day' recently.

Around 60 people saw Eve Black, David Mernagh and Linda Castaldo elected as president, secretary and treasurer, respectively.

Corangamite Shire mayor Kate Makin congratulated the organisers on their work and emphasised the importance of providing for the region’s senior residents.

U3A Corangamite boasts in excess of 120 members, and are also happy to welcome more.

Afternoon tea concluded with a scrumptious afternoon tea provided by Rustic Tarts.

The whole session was supported by sponsorship, which was provided by U3A major sponsors Cobden and Camperdown Community Bank.
