The visitors, who currently sit on the bottom of the ladder, were eager to finish the season with a win but Camperdown had other ideas, prevailing 105-80.

Darren Coverdale, Barry Atchison, Vicki Brebner and LudGungl played the rink of Brian Finn and led from the start, running home 34-20 winners.

Luke Wright, Lennie Searle, Donna Watts and Ton Vermaas came up against Russell Kerr and were in front 13-4 at the tea break.

They held on to their lead to come home with the win, 22-14.

Matthew Brewer, Henry Henderson, Jim Boyd and Darren Page were up against the ring of Ron Chapman and were in control of the game throughout the day, winning 24-17.

Ronald Cameron, Fred Salmon, Kelvin Rundle and Ray Burke had a close match against Ian Johnson and his team.

They were the only Camperdown side to go down, despite a steady comeback, defeated 25-29.

Division three also played at home on the weekend for their final game against Colac City.

Ron Absalom, Bert Sloetjes, Nick Saligari and Gordon Weller were defeated by City’s Royden Copeland 15-24.

Herm Brebner, Gerard Broderick, Barney Dickson and Max Rippon had a tight finish against Steven Fanelli’s rink, losing 19-20.

In Camperdown’s only winning rink of the day, David Coverdale, Tom Hose, Pam Atchison and Les Pearson defeated Patrick Howard’s team 20-18.

Lynda Inglis’ team proved too strong for Stan Adeney, Graeme Chamberlain, Brent Noonan and Les Dorman, with Camperdown defeated 17-24.

Overall the score was 71-86; a 15 shot defeat for Camperdown which extinguished their hopes of a finals play-off.

Division five forfeited to Birregurra due to lack of players and an impending long drive.

The finals this Saturday will see Apollo Bay against Winchelsea in the first semi-final.

That match will be played at Colac Lakes.

Colac Lakes will then face Simpson in the elimination final at Camperdown Golf Bowls Club.

In division two, Lorne will play Winchelsea at Colac City while the elimination final will see Cobden face Apollo Bay at Colac Lakes.

In division three semi-finals, Colac City will play Simpson at Camperdown Golf while in the elimination, Colac Lakes will play Cobden at Camperdown.

Division four will see two sides from Colac Lakes in finals – one against Lorne at Colac City and the other against Cobden at Camperdown.

Division five finals will be between Birregurra and Apollo Bay at Colac Lakes and Lismore will face Colac City at Camperdown.

Camperdown Bowling Club’s 100 Up is now down to the last two bowlers.

Ronald Cameron will play Ron Simcox in the semi-final.

The president’s handicap (100 Up) is also down to the semi-finals, with Vicki and Herm Brebner set to face each other.

In the other semi-final, Graeme Chamberlain will play Ronald Cameron.
