Temporary backdown from ESFV levy

THE Victorian Government has announced more than $37 million in new drought funding, in addition to the establishment of a Drought Response Taskforce featuring two local faces.

Change: The Victorian Government has backed down, temporarily, from hitting farmers with a levy increase under the Emergency Services and Volunteer Fund. In addition, a state-wide Drought Response Taskforce has been established which includes Corangamite Shire mayor Kate Makin among its members.
