HEYTESBURY Princetown Storm continues to dominate South West Cricket.

The Storm put on a great performance with bat and ball against Bookaar last weekend to make it five from five in season 2023-24.

Round five of the competition saw some exciting matches played, highlighting the closeness of division one this year.

Taking on Bookaar at the Camperdown College oval last Saturday, Storm won the toss and elected to bat.

Openers Thomas Hunt and Ryan Mottram led the way for their side, with Hunt reaching 68 before his dismissal and Mottram not far behind on 67 runs.

Hunt’s innings included three boundaries and a six while Mottram managed 10 boundaries for the day.

Other contributors to the Storm’s 6/247 off 50 overs included a knock of 41 from captain Simon Harkness and 29 from Sam Newey.

In reply Bookaar were 8/240, with Jake Robbins effective at the crease taking 2/36 from 10.

Other wickets fell for both Chris and Paul Vogels, Mottram and Sam Lenehan.

Taking on Camperdown on their home ground, the Cobden Knights also had a successful day out, posting 4/245 from 50 overs.

The Knights were able to successfully defend their total, restricting the Lakers to 9/210.

Best of the batters for the Knights were opener Jonty Robertson who smashed his way to 73 (which included five boundaries), Campbell Walsh who finished the day unbeaten on 57 and Matthew Kemp who contributed 54.

Best of the bowlers for the victors was Jackson Rock who took 4/56 off 10.

In other round five matches, Woorndoo enjoyed a win over Ecklin and Pomborneit defeated Boorcan.

This weekend will see Bookaar host Ecklin, Cobden at home to Pomborneit, Woorndoo will travel to Boorcan and the Lakers will host top side Storm.
