TIMBOON Action is looking forward to a bright future, with a new committee on board.
TIMBOON Action is looking forward to a bright future, with a new committee on board.
Committee president Heather Martin said the committee was looking forward to a number of upcoming events.
“We’re taking an energetic and positive approach towards Timboon’s future, with respect to the past and all those who have come before us,”she said.
“We want to undertake activities to promote a strong community spirit, there are so many new residents, we are going to facilitate more social events for new residents to meetand interact.
“Timboon is approaching its 150th birthday, so it’s an amazing opportunity to bring together all areas of the community to achieve some big projects and plan a huge celebration.”
Ms Martin said Timboon Action members are busy organising Timboon Community Christmas on Friday, December 16 between 3pmto 7pm.
“We’re calling for all talented locals to make contact with us if they would like to set up activities and stalls,”she said.
“We’re running two Christmas competitions between December 1 and 16 – winner announced at Timboon Community Christmas – vote for your favourite Christmas window and vote for your favourite Christmas lights.”
Ms Martin said the group would be releasing a strategic project plan in the new year.
In the meantime, she called on local clubs, associations, schools and businesses to attend meetings to work together in a cohesive fashion.
The new committee consists of:
• President – Heather Martin;
• Vice president – Nicole Oberin;
• Secretary – Leeanne Whitehead;
• Treasurer – Liz Withycombe;
• Committee members – Darcy McGlade and Caz Miller; and
• Social media – Kristian andLisa Pechotsch.
