The Tigers managed a solid first term, down by just nine points at the first break, before the visitors asserted their dominance.

The Bombers kicked 11 goals to one in the final three quarters in their 14.14.98 to 3.8.26 win.

Mitch Reed kicked two goals and was best for Simpson alongside Ryleigh McVilly, Gus Hawkes and Jayden Rooke.

Simpson has this week off with the league bye, the Tigers next engagement an away game on July 19 at Birregurra.

In the reserves, Irrewarra-Beeac scored an 82-point win, 18.12.120 to 6.2.38.

Brodie Neal, Jason Kordupel and Jack Balcombe were Simpson’s best.

In the under 18s, Irrewarra-Beeac had a convincing 24.11.155 to 4.2.26 win.

Nate Sambell, Bradey Fratantaro and Lucas Woolstencroft were Simpson’s best, with Fratantaro, Woolstencroft, Ben Vogels and Orson Capizzi kicking a goal each.

Simpson registered a fourth win of the season in the under 15 football, 8.5.53 to 3.2.20.

Ben Vogels, Xander Weel and Jyda Randle were best for the Tigers, with Orson Capizzi kicking three goals and Vogels two.

The under 12 game saw Irrewarra-Beeac have a big 15.15.105 to 1.0.6 win.

Deegan Sambell was the goal kicker for Simpson.

In the A grade netball, Simpson went down 54-38 to top of the ladder Irrewarra-Beeac.

But there were plenty of positives to come out of the game for Simpson coach Emily Duynhoven.

“We definitely pushed them, the scores don’t reflect how competitive it was,” Duynhoven said.

“It was a really good game, they are the top side for a reason.”

Duynhoven noted how the Tigers had set goals for each quarter and hit them all.

“We are coming along well and showing we can match the top teams.

“Our flow down the court has been impressive and we are starting to become a more consistent side.”

Wing defence Chloe Woods was again best for the A grade Tigers.

“Chloe played another great game, she continues to improve each week,” Duynhoven said.

“She really shut down their wing attack, her voice and defensive pressure was first rate.”

Goal keeper Holly Duynhoven was again also in the Tigers best.

“Holly played a phenomenal game, she was sick leading into Saturday but pushed through it.

“She stuck to her game, took control of our defence and did a fantastic job on (Irrewarra-Beeac goal shooter) Jeremi Robinson.”

Eliza Duynhoven scored a match high 28 goals.

“Eliza has been consistent all year playing mostly in the goal shooter role.

“She stands her ground strongly and her accuracy shooting for goal is always good.”

The A grade Tigers now sit outside the top five on percentage only, with Birregurra the next game after this week’s league bye.

Irrewarra-Beeac got the points in the B grade netball with a 48-31 win.
