THE final round of the Warrnambool District home and away season was a tough one for the Demons, faced with Panmure on their home ground.

The third-placed Dogs made the going tough for the Demons, restricting them to just two goals three for the day while booting home 17.17.119.

The day bought to an end season 2023 for the Demons, who notched up three wins for the year.

Ash Hunt and Charlie Trotter provided a goal each for the Demons while Ben Newey, Mitchell Wallace, Ben Harding, Oliver Stansfield, Trotter and Hunt were named in the best.

The day was also a tough one for the reserves, who fought hard all game but could manage just 1.1 on the scoreboard while Panmure went on a goal kicking spree, finishing with 17.14.116.

Richard Couch kicked the team’s only goal and was named in the best alongside team-mates Adrian Jilich, Jayden Stapleton, John Jenkins, Tim Lecouteur and Sullivan Wallace.

Timboon’s under 18s are set to make a finals appearance this weekend after finishing second on the league ladder, just a game behind leaders Kolora Noorat.

The Demons will take on South Rovers at Mortlake’s DC Farran Oval in this Saturday’s qualifying final.

They will go into the game well rested after having a bye in round 18.

Netball results from last weekend were as follows:

A grade – Panmure defeated Timboon 61-30.

The Demons finished fifth and will face Kolora Noorat in this Sunday’s elimination final.

A reserve – Timboon defeated Panmure 35-24. The Demons finished fourth on the ladder and will face Allansford in the elimination final this Sunday.

B grade – Panmure defeated Timboon 63-14.

17 and under - Timboon lost to Panmure 19-46.

15 and under – Timboon lost to Panmure 16-24.

13 and under – Timboon lost to Panmure 17-26.
