Revving up: Camperdown and District Motorcycle Club committee member John O’Crehan and president Brett ‘Risky’ Murdie are inviting all motorcycle enthusiasts to their upcoming trialla event.

The trialla will be held from October 24-26, with gates opening at 12pm on Friday, October 24.

Club president Brett ‘Risky’ Murdie said it was the club’s annual fundraiser event, with the $30 entry fee going towards supporting the club.

“We’re just a local club of motorcycle enthusiasts, and we invite other motorcycle enthusiasts around the area to a social event,” he said.

“We’ll have a bit of a live band and entertainment on Saturday night.

“This is our fundraiser for the year – we get ourselves financially stable, then if there’s spare cash lying around we don’t mind giving it back to the community.

“We are local – we’re helping out at the show, running the Show and Shine.”

Now in its 30th year, the event will be held in a woolshed at 1527 Foxhow Road in Leslie Manor, with free camping out the front of the venue.

“It’s not a real big show, but we get about 100-150 bikes out to it,” Mr Murdie said.

“We originally had another show out at Lake Tooliorook years ago, then we moved out to a woolshed.

“You just ride your bike there, camp, have a few drinks and look at other people’s bikes while listening to music.

“The good thing about it is you get a ride out of it – it’s a ride to somewhere, meet a few people and ride home.

“We just do it to keep our club going.”

Mr Murdie said everyone was welcome at the trialla, whether they’ve been die-hard motorcycle fans for a long time or are new to the world of motorcycles.

“If you’re into motorcycles and you’d like to come out, all are welcome,” he said.

“There is camping out the front – if you like motorcycles, but haven’t got one, you can leave the car out there.

“There’re different rallies around Victoria, and you’re not seeing the same faces every time – people sometimes come down to our rallies.

“It’s mainly about motorcycles – you can come out and visit and say g’day.”
