United together in faith
DENOMINATIONS across Terang came together to take part in a religious ceremony which reflects on the life and death of Jesus Christ.

Those in attendance at The Stations of the Cross last Friday took part in the religious devotion which commemorates the passion, crucifixion, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ as part of a 14-step walking pilgrimage.
Around 20 people gathered to take part in the event last Friday, which departed at 10.30am.
Father George Kuruvila led The Stations of the Cross event in Terang, which started at the Terang Uniting Church on Ewing Street before travelling to the St Thomas’ Catholic Church.
Fr Kuruvila said the emergence of war in the Middle East had weighed heavily on the minds of those in attendance, who prayed for peace to be achieved.
“We started at the Uniting Church and finished at the Catholic Church as part of a walk for The Stations of the Cross on Good Friday,” he said.
“We are united in praying for peace in the world, thinking specifically about the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East.
“Whatever be the reasons we are not worried, but we want peace in the world – that is the main concept, the main theme for our walk.”
Fr Kuruvila said The Stations of the Cross was an opportunity for all involved to celebrate their differences while recognising the good which can be achieved through faith.
“Being different, we are united,” he said.
“There are differences in our interpretation of religion in the town but we can walk together for the same cause.
“That is the sense of Good Friday.”
