Vet golfers in Timboon
SEVENTY-five veteran golfers made the trip to Timboon last week to enjoy a round.
Golfers from a range of member clubs made the trip down south on Tuesday, April 21 for a great day of competition.
The course was played well, with several playing better than their handicap.
A grade was won by Camperdown’s Keith Baker on 30 followed by Timboon’s Kevin Plozza on 39, with Peter Cashmore (Timboon) third on 38 on countback.
NAGA was Allan White (Camperdown) on 24.
B grade was won by Timboon’s Mark McKenzie on 43, followed by Andrew Burrows (Camperdown) 37 on countback from Andrew Jemmeson (Terang) 37.
NAGA was Colac player, Peter Theodore on 26.
Cobden’s Brian Smith won C grade on 37, followed by runner-up Kerry Clarke (Terang) 36, with Charles Cowell (Warrnambool) third on 33.
NAGA for C grade was Colac’s John Miller on 19.
Nearest the pins: 5th Keith Baker, 7th (golden hole) Peter Cashmore, 10th Bernie Kennaq and 14th Don Withman.
The next events will be Birregurra on Tuesday, May 12 and Lake Bolac on Monday, May 25.
Members are reminded of the following changes – Monday, September 14 at Angelsea Golf Club (Geelong v Corangamite Challenge) and Monday, September 21 and Tuesday, September 22 at Buninyong Golf Club (VVGA teams event).
